Leadership
As a federal prosecutor for most of my professional career, I’ve worked to bring justice to victims and keep our communities safe. I’ve also been a businessman and, most importantly, a husband and dad who has raised his children right here in our district. I believe government should make life better for hardworking people, not harder, and if elected to represent District 48 in the Alabama House, I’ll work every day to make that a reality.
Our district has a lot to be proud of, but we can always do better. I’m running to keep our neighborhoods safe, strengthen our schools, and support the local businesses that drive our economy. Government should work for the people who wake up every morning, go to work, raise their families, and try to do the right thing. It shouldn’t get in the way with red tape, wasteful spending, or policies that put politics ahead of common sense.
If I’m elected, I’ll hold myself to one simple standard: does this make life better, safer, or more affordable for the people I serve?
Lloyd on the Issues

Education
Students and teachers deserve the resources and support to reach their full potential. I will work to ensure education funding goes exactly where it makes the greatest impact — into classrooms and into the hands of the teachers who show up every day to guide and invest in our children. College should be an option, not an expectation. Students who want to pursue a university degree must be prepared to succeed. But they should also know that success doesn’t only come with a four-year diploma. We should celebrate the students who want to build, repair, design, or serve in other ways. That means expanding vocational, technical, and apprenticeship programs so all students, not just the ones going to college, have a clear path to a good career and a strong future.
Economic Development
A strong economy depends on low taxes, limited government interference, and a workforce ready to succeed. Alabama should be a place where entrepreneurs can start a business, and existing companies can grow and thrive. To stay competitive, we must continue improving our tax system and reducing unnecessary regulations. At the same time, we should invest in infrastructure, key industries, and career opportunities that attract and keep talented workers right here at home. Our high school and college graduates — and our experienced workforce — should never have to leave Alabama to find excellent opportunities. When the government sets the right conditions, businesses invest, jobs follow, and communities prosper. But growth shouldn’t just be big. It should be smart. That means strengthening our economy while protecting the quality of life that makes our district such a great place to live and raise a family.
Improving Safety in Our Community
Public safety is the foundation of a strong community. As a former prosecutor, I’ve seen firsthand how violent crime and economic fraud destroy lives, undermine trust, and steal opportunity from hardworking families. We must continue to give law enforcement the tools and resources they need to do their jobs — better training, improved investigative technology, and strong coordination between local, state, and federal agencies. We must also support prosecutors so victims are heard and justice is delivered — not delayed. That means firm penalties for violent offenders and policies that keep dangerous criminals off our streets. And it also means protecting our most vulnerable from fraud and scams by strengthening enforcement, increasing outreach, and ensuring real consequences for those who prey on seniors, small businesses, and taxpayers.
Fighting for our district
No matter how accountable the government tries to be, there will always be waste and misplaced priorities. I plan to bring fresh energy, conservative principles, and a commitment to making sure our district gets the support and resources it deserves. The people of our district work hard, pay their taxes, and deserve to know their money is being used wisely. My commitment is simple: every dollar the state spends should deliver real value to the people it serves. As a businessman and someone who believes in common-sense stewardship, I will take a hard look at how taxpayer money is spent, focusing on making sure taxpayer funds are invested with purpose and not wasted in bureaucracy. That means evaluating spending based on its likely impact, efficiency, and return on investment for our state and our district. Alabama has made progress, but there is always room to do better. By eliminating waste, reducing unnecessary bureaucracy, improving transparency, and focusing on results-driven spending, we can make government more efficient while delivering more back to our communities — without raising taxes or cutting essential services.
