Education
Students and teachers deserve the resources and support to reach their full potential. I’ve spent years coaching and cheering on our kids—football and baseball, basketball and cheerleading, tennis and soccer. I’ve been there for our young people, and now I’m ready to stand up for them – and for you – in Montgomery.
As your representative, I will focus on practical, common-sense improvements that strengthen classrooms, respect parents, and prepare students for real-world success.
Put Education Dollars Where They Matter
Education funding should make the biggest impact in the place it matters most: the classroom. I will work to ensure tax dollars go toward teachers, materials, and student support – not bureaucracy – so our schools can deliver a first-class education for every child.
Strong Outcomes, Strong Partnerships with Parents
Candi and I raised our children in the Vestavia Hills school system. We’ve seen what works, and we know where we can do better. I will support policies that raise student achievement, back great teachers, and respect parents’ rights to be informed and involved in their child’s education.
Modern, Engaging Classrooms
Technology is a growing part of everyday life, and our classrooms should make smart use of it. When used well, interactive learning can provide immediate feedback, support personalized instruction, and keep students engaged. Our teachers deserve the best and most up-to-date tools, along with the training and support to use them effectively.
Students First: College, Career, or Both
College should be an option, not an expectation. Students pursuing a four-year degree should graduate ready to succeed. But we should also celebrate and support students who want to build, repair, design, serve, and lead in the skilled trades and other careers. That means expanding vocational, technical, and apprenticeship opportunities so every student graduates with a clear path to a good job and a strong future.
Economy and Jobs
A strong economy is the difference between a family getting ahead or falling behind, a small business hiring or holding back, and a young graduate building a future in Alabama – or leaving to find it somewhere else.
In addition to my time in public service, I have also been a manager in the private sector. I understand meeting customer expectations, managing budgets, and paying vendors and employees.
As your representative, my focus would be straightforward: reward hard work, expand opportunity, and keep investment – and the jobs that come with it – here in Alabama’s communities.
Cut Red Tape and Make Government Work
Alabama’s economy is powered by the ingenuity and determination of our people – not by bureaucracy. Businesses are already dealing with rising costs, workforce challenges, and an economy that can change quickly. State government should not make it harder to open the doors, hire good people, or grow.
I have had a front-row seat to what it takes to operate a small business – navigating permits and inspections, controlling costs, and finding dependable workers. In Montgomery, I will push for a government that is clear, consistent, and efficient.
That starts with smarter permitting and faster approvals so projects move from paperwork to progress. It also means taking a practical look at regulations that hit small businesses the hardest (duplicative, outdated, or overly complex requirements) so compliance is reasonable and predictable. And it means removing unnecessary barriers that keep people from working while maintaining real safety standards, with fair enforcement that treats small businesses like partners, not targets.
Grow a Workforce That Attracts Good Jobs
Good-paying jobs go where a skilled workforce is ready and available. Alabama should give students and workers multiple pathways to success – college, career training, apprenticeships, and the skilled trades – so employers can hire locally and families have more options.
A strong education system should prepare students for every path – from technical credentials and trades to advanced degrees – and it should stay aligned with real workforce demand. When training is connected to the jobs employers are actually offering, certificates and degrees turn into paychecks – and opportunity stays here at home.
Strengthen the Fundamentals: Infrastructure and a Pro‑Business Environment
Economic growth depends on the basics: safe roads and bridges that keep commerce moving, broadband that helps students and businesses compete, and a business environment where employers can invest with confidence. And we should maintain a fair legal climate that discourages abusive litigation while protecting legitimate claims. These are the building blocks of opportunity – especially for families, small businesses, and growing communities.
We should prioritize targeted infrastructure improvements that improve safety, reduce congestion, and connect communities and expand broadband in a practical way that delivers real coverage and reliability. We also need reliable, affordable energy so families and employers are not squeezed by volatility or policy overreach. But these major projects must be completed on time and efficiently. Progress does not need to be slowed down by avoidable delays and excessive costs.
The Bottom Line
When we cut unnecessary red tape, strengthen workforce readiness, and invest in the fundamentals, we create the kind of environment where businesses can grow and families can get ahead. With the right priorities, we can help Alabama continue to be a leader in business growth and development instead of watching jobs and investment flow to other states.
Keeping Our Communities Safe
Public safety is the foundation of a strong community. As a federal prosecutor for nearly two decades, I’ve stood shoulder-to-shoulder with law enforcement and stood up for victims. I’ve seen firsthand the real consequences of violent crime and economic fraud: lives and families are torn apart, small businesses are devastated, neighborhoods suffer, and law-abiding citizens lose confidence that the system is working for them.
In my experience, reducing crime isn’t about empty promises or political slogans—it’s about results. It means sending a clear message: if you break the law, you will be pursued, you will be caught, and you will be held accountable. As your representative, I will support a public safety strategy that emphasizes accountability, restores confidence in the justice system, and stands firmly behind the men and women of the badge on the front lines who risk their lives to protect us.
Reducing Crime Through Accountability
As a prosecutor, I worked to hold serious and violent offenders accountable for their crimes, like Kamile “Cupcake” McKinney’s kidnappers, stepping away from a desk and into the courtroom to secure convictions and put dangerous criminals behind bars. As your representative, I will continue to work to make sure criminals are brought to justice. When criminals believe they will be caught and punished, crime rates drop. It’s that simple.
I will champion policies that strengthen law enforcement, enhancing their investigative tools and ensuring that our justice system functions swiftly and effectively. Accountability matters - especially for violent offenders and repeat criminals who cause the greatest harm.
I will support strong investigation and prosecution of repeat offenders who cycle through the system, drug traffickers, child predators, and those who commit heinous acts of violence. I will oppose liberal policies that undermine law enforcement or put criminal ahead of victims. Families deserve peace of mind in their home, confidence when they send their children to school, and the opportunity to build and grow businesses in our community.
Protecting Our Most Vulnerable
There can be no tolerance for crimes that target those who need help protecting themselves—our children, seniors, and those least able to defend themselves. Criminals who prey on the innocent—through child exploitation, elder abuse, domestic violence, trafficking, or targeted scams—must know they will face swift and certain consequences.
I’ll fight to protect our children from predators and traffickers, our seniors from fraud and exploitation, and our communities from violence. Those who commit these offenses must be held fully accountable under the law. I will fight for Alabama’s most vulnerable citizens by supporting strong leadership, judges who uphold the rule of law, and policies that prioritize public safety.
Backing Law Enforcement
Law enforcement officers and prosecutors put themselves on the line every day to keep our communities safe—and they deserve our leaders’ unwavering support. Strong communities depend on strong law enforcement, and I will always stand with those who serve and protect.
We don’t need to “defund the police.” We need to support law enforcement and give them the resources to succeed—adequate staffing, modern training, and the investigative technology that helps prevent crime, solve cases, and protect officers in the line of duty. It also means passing clear laws that allow officers and prosecutors to act decisively—without loopholes that put the public at risk.
Closing
Safe communities don’t happen by accident. They are built through clear laws, strong enforcement, and accountability for those who choose to break the law. Keeping our communities safe requires action—not just words. By prioritizing accountability, protecting the vulnerable, and backing law enforcement, we can reduce crime, restore confidence, and build a stronger future for the next generation. I have spent most of my adult life ensuring public safety, supporting law enforcement, and bringing justice to our worst offenders. As your representative, you can count of me to continue in these endeavors.
Fighting for Our District
No matter how accountable the government tries to be, there will always be waste and misplaced priorities. I plan to bring fresh energy, conservative principles, and a commitment to making sure our district gets the support and resources it deserves. The people of our district work hard, pay their taxes, and deserve to know their money is being used wisely.
My commitment is simple: every dollar the state spends should deliver real value to the people it serves. As a businessman and someone who believes in common-sense stewardship, I will take a hard look at how taxpayer money is spent, focusing on making sure taxpayer funds are invested with purpose and not wasted in bureaucracy. That means evaluating spending based on its likely impact, efficiency, and return on investment for our state and our district.
Alabama has made progress, but there is always room to do better. By eliminating waste, reducing unnecessary bureaucracy, improving transparency, and focusing on results-driven spending, we can make government more efficient while delivering more back to our communities — without raising taxes or cutting essential services.
